Magic:

Skills:
Pottery
Weapons:
Daggers, if needed. Prefers not to fight.
Personality:
River likes to keep to himself. He finds that his greatest love is his work, and his idea of fun is to sit and work on clay bowls or art, or spend time near the Lifegiver River in search of more clay to use in his creations. Even though he likes his time to himself, he does like the company of others, particularly at gatherings or howls--though he does get nervous if it seems someone wants to get too close too fast. He's afraid that any lasting commitment will change his life and deprive him of time to do the things he wants to do most.
Likes:
Pottery, searching for clay. The feel of clay on his hands, or the feeling one gets when an idea to make something different pops into one's head. He also likes making others happy by giving them gifts of the pottery he's made. He prides himself on his craftsmanship and is pleased when others are pleased with his work.
Dislikes:
Fighting, discord, when he doesn't have time to work his clay. He hates hunting and really hates to have to pick up a weapon, even though he would do so to save his life or someone else's. For this reason, if he's available, he might be called upon to be a cubsitter.
Fears:
That someday he'll be forced to use a weapon and will be unprepared. Fears that he will never see his brother, Redsky, again.
Appearance:
River is slender, about 4'2". His stature and features are just as lean as he is, from his face to his chin, to his long, straight fingers.
Marks/Scars:
None
Hair:
Shoulder-length, curly, silver-white hair that he can never seem to quite tame. It tends to bush out around his shoulders, and it's all he can do to keep it from getting into his eyes.
Eyes:
Light greenish-yellow and slightly slanted. Crinkled in the corners from all the time he spends squinting and smiling.
New Green
Clothes:
Ankle-length black trousers and a light shirt made of patchworked green, blue, and brown fabric. Prefers to go bare-chested for the most part, as he doesn't want his clothes to get dirty as he works. Black boots.
White Cold
Clothes:
The same as new green, but wears a heavy patchwork tunic with a hood in place of his lightweight shirt. .
Jewelry:
A glazed jade-green bead of potery tied around his neck with an ivory-colored leather thong.
History:

River was born in Stormrise following the Recognition of Glade the huntress and Thornbriar the potter. Their Recognition caused quite a stir, as Glade was already lifemated to Tusk, father of Redsky. Neither party was happy about what had happened and it was decided that the new cub would be Thornbriar's primary responsibility, much to Glade's dismay.

Thornbriar loved his son, and set about teaching him the art of shaping clay as soon as River was able. He soon became just as proficient as his father was in molding the soft material, and pottery became both an obsession and a way to escape a somewhat troubled relationship with his half-brother.

Redsky, Glade's firstborn son, was jealous of the feelings Glade had toward her youngest son, and made quite the effort to make River's life difficult for that fact. He wasn't beside throwing his much-slimmer brother in the Lifegiver (which is how River got his name), and the pair always seemed to be vying for Glade's attention.

It was only after Glade was injured in a flash flood that the brothers put their differences aside. It was Glade's dying wish that the pair stop fighting with one another. Once they started trying to get along, they realized that, other than matters of the hunt and weaponry, they did have a few things in common. Over time, the brothers actually became close.

It was another natural disaster that split the brothers apart. Following the groundshake this past New Green, Redsky went in search for his missing Lifemate, Clouddreamer. River worries that his brother will never return. Sends have gone unanswered for far too long. To help himself cope with this turn of events, as well as the increased violence that seems to be happening around the elves' homes, River has thrown himself into his work more now than ever before, sometimes not emerging from his den in days--and then only to find a place to dig up more clay.

Bond Beast:
Not bonded.
