Brolan grew up
in a costal village not too distant, long turned to dust
however. Worked with his father and learned of the sea.
Sole survior of a sinking. Unexpected storm took his farther
and his younger brother. Mother died of a fever 2 winters
later. Worked with a number of others until he was able
to pay for his adoptive parents for their care and moved
on with a small family group traveling up the coast till
he came to rest here.
During the stormy
season, Brolan's fishing boat went missing and he and his
crew were feared dead. Miraculously, he and his youngest
crewmate returned though they were both dehydrated and near-dead.
The crewmate died, but Brolan was nursed back to health
and was able to tell the strange story of how dolphins -
the good spirits of the sea - had helped to guide them back
home.
Since then, some
people haven't quite looked at Brolan in the same way. The
Hooded Ones had argued that he was a malevolent spirit that
had returned to bring foul luck to the village, but others
disagreed.
